This is a historical and significant pre-war publication in the cultural space of Latvia - the first volume (part) of the book "History of Art", published by "Grāmatu Draugs" in Riga. A special value is given to this work by the fact that it was created under the general editorship of the prominent Latvian painter, director of the Riga City Art Museum and professor Vilhelm Purvīš. The book has a stiff, dark blue cover with an embossed texture and inscription on the spine, while the title page is decorated with a classic stamp with a Pegasus motif. Visually, the edition looks well preserved for its respectable age, the title page shows natural yellowing of the paper. This classic review of art history will be an excellent asset for collectors of literature from the period of the Latvian Free State, art researchers and will serve as a valuable addition to everyone's personal library.
